Azerbaijan’s ASAN service, UN to launch joint project
The State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan (ASAN Service) and the United Nations (UN) will launch a joint project.
An agreement was reached at a meeting between Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev and UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua, Report informs citing ASAN Service.
During the meeting, the sides agreed on the implementation of a new cooperation project between the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan and the UN to introduce the ASAN Service model in various countries.
The delegation led by Mehdiyev, as part of a visit to the US, took part in the 23rd session of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) in New York.
As part of the trip, Mehdiyev also met with Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States of the UN Development Programme Ivana Zivkovic. The sides discussed the projects implemented between ASAN Service and the UN Development Programme and expressed the readiness for further cooperation.
The State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan is the central body of executive power. It coordinates activity and budgets of central or local executive powers operating in “ASAN service” and “ASAN Kommunal” centres, as well as the functions of the employees of the state agencies to act at those centres; makes assessment, carries out the mutual integration of databases of state agencies; as well as improves the management system in this sphere.
