Azerbaijan's first female sappers have been presented to the public.
An international technical conference on "Mine action: Innovations and best practices" featured an exhibition of Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) products and manufacturing companies, APA reports.
The first female sappers of Azerbaijan were also presented to the event participants.
Meanwhile, the international technical conference on "Mine action: Innovations and best practices" has kicked off in Baku.
The event participants include ANAMA Board Chairman Vugar Suleymanov, head of the Information Support Sector of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Farhad Amirbayov, Chief of Staff of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers Rufat Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Karabakh Revival Foundation Rahman Hajiyev, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan Peter Mihalko, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva.
The conference, which will last two days, aims to raise global awareness about Azerbaijan's mine problem, demonstrate global innovative technologies in the field of humanitarian demining and strengthen international cooperation in this area.
