Azerbaijan’s JF-17 fighters debut new low-visibility insignia in Air Force first-ever PHOTOFACT
New details have emerged about the JF-17 Thunder (Block III) fighter jets recently inducted into service with the Azerbaijani Air Force.
For the first time in the history of Azerbaijan’s Air Force, low-visibility black-and-white identification markings have been applied to both the upper and lower surfaces of the aircraft’s wings, Caliber.Az reports.

The insignia features a crescent and an eight-pointed star enclosed within a circle.
Previously, these markings were displayed in the colours of Azerbaijan’s national flag.

Under the new scheme, the only colour element remaining on the aircraft is the Azerbaijani flag displayed on the vertical tail fin.
The JF-17 Thunder Block III is currently the most advanced combat aircraft in Azerbaijan’s Air Force and forms part of the country’s modern air defence capabilities.
