Azerbaijan's Mine Action Agency honours memory of national leader PHOTO
The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) marked the 28th anniversary of its establishment by paying tribute to the country's late national leader, Heydar Aliyev.
According to the agency, ANAMA's executive board members and heads of its structural units visited the national leader's grave at the Alley of Honour in Baku, where they laid flowers and observed a moment of respect, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The delegation also visited the grave of ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, the late wife of Heydar Aliyev, to lay flowers and honour her memory.
The commemorative ceremony formed part of events marking ANAMA's 28th anniversary. The agency plays a central role in Azerbaijan's humanitarian demining efforts, including the clearance of landmines and unexploded ordnance in areas affected by past conflicts.
