Azerbaijan’s Press Council hosts French colonial journalists for cross-border media exchange
A delegation of journalists from French colonies visited the Press Council of Azerbaijan in a special event aimed at fostering media cooperation and exchange of ideas.
The meeting was organized by the Baku Initiative Group (BIG) and welcomed foreign media representatives to the Azerbaijani capital, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The gathering brought together prominent members of the Azerbaijani media landscape, including officials from the Press Council, the Media Development Agency (MEDIA), and BIG, as well as public figures.
Rashad Majid, Chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan, opened the event with a welcoming address, highlighting the importance of international media collaboration. Natig Mammadli, Deputy Executive Director of MEDIA, and Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of BIG, also delivered speeches, discussing the role of media in shaping public discourse and fostering international partnerships.
The event provided an opportunity for dialogue on the challenges and opportunities facing the media in both Azerbaijan and the French colonies, as well as discussions on the evolving role of the press in modern societies. The exchange aims to further strengthen ties between media outlets from different regions and enhance collaboration on various media-related initiatives.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts by Azerbaijan to engage with international media representatives and share experiences in media development and governance.
Earlier the representatives of the French colonial media visited Baku Initiative Group, the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) and met with Azerbaijani civil societies.
As part of the visit, twelve foreign media representatives will also be involved in special training in the field of communication.
