Azerbaijan’s leading religious affairs body marks 25-year milestone of stability PHOTO
The State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
On the occasion, representatives of the committee, along with officials from the Foundation for the Promotion of Spiritual Values (FPSV), the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT), and the Baku Theological College, visited the Alley of Honours to lay a wreath at the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
They also paid tribute to prominent ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva, laying flowers at her grave.
The delegation then visited the Alley of Martyrs, where they commemorated those who lost their lives in the struggle for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity, laying flowers at their graves.
The State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations was established by presidential decree on June 21, 2001. Under its supervision operate the Foundation for the Promotion of Spiritual Values, the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, and the Baku Theological College, all created by relevant presidential decrees and orders.
