Azerbaijan’s top cleric to visit Vatican at invitation of Pope Leo XIV

Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, will travel to the Vatican tomorrow on an official visit.

According to the Board, as reported by Caliber.Az, the visit is taking place at the invitation of Pope Leo XIV. Allahshukur Pashazade is scheduled to meet with the pontiff on February 9.

The visit will also include planned bilateral meetings between the leaders of Azerbaijan’s religious confessions and the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, as well as other officials of the Holy See.
