Azerbaijan’s top Muslim cleric heads to US for interfaith meetings
Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), is set to visit the United States on October 1.
According to the Board, the visit to Utah comes at the invitation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Community and the Sterling Foundation, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
During his stay, Sheikh Pashazade will hold meetings with state officials and participate in a series of events.
The programme also includes engagements with religious organisations in Washington, D.C., as well as meetings with members of the US Senate and Congress.
In New York, he is scheduled to meet representatives of the United Nations, the interfaith organisation Religions for Peace, the Call to Conscience Foundation, and other institutions.
