Azerbaijan’s Victory Museum on track to open with over 9,000 items collected
Since January 2021, the Azerbaijan Museum of Independence has been responsible for collecting exhibits for the Museum of Victory, with 9,255 items gathered to date, said Sadi Mirseyibli, director of the Museum.
According to Mirseibli, the collection of items from the families of martyrs, veterans of the First and Second Karabakh Wars, and the 44-day Patriotic War will continue until the Museum of Victory opens its doors, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Mirseibli also noted that personal belongings of civilians who perished during the 44-day Patriotic War are being gathered for the museum.
Notably, on December 3, President Ilham Aliyev signed an Order on the establishment of the Patriotic War Memorial Complex and the Victory Museum in the city of Baku.
Under the presidential Order, the Patriotic War Memorial Complex and the Victory Museum will be designed to demonstrate the unprecedented heroism and glorious historic victory of the Azerbaijani people in the Patriotic War and to perpetuate the memory of Azerbaijani martyrs.
