Azerbaijan sees increase in Indian tourist influx

There has been an increase in the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan this year compared to five months of last year.

Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board Javanshir Bayramov made the remarks at a press conference dedicated to the preparation of the Shahdagh tourist centre for the summer season, Azertac reports.

Most tourists come to the country from Russia, Türkiye and India. More than 90,000 tourists from India have visited the country since the beginning of the year.

"In 2023, there was also an increase in inbound tourism revenues: they increased by 82 per cent compared to 2022. Compared to 2019, total tourism revenues in 2023 increased by 9 per cent," he noted.
