Azerbaijan seizes more than 112 kilograms of heroin at border checkpoint PHOTO

Azerbaijan's customs authorities have intercepted a large shipment of heroin, the State Customs Committee announced.

During an inspection at the Shahtakhti customs checkpoint of the Nakhchivan Customs Administration, officers searched a truck transporting food products from Iran to Germany in transit through Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.

The search uncovered 112.761757 kilograms of heroin concealed inside pallets containing 1,218 plastic containers of canned rice. An investigation into the incident is underway.
