Azerbaijan sends more humanitarian aid to Türkiye PHOTO
A campaign to collect aid for victims of the devastating earthquake in Türkiye continues in Baku.
Assistance to victims of the earthquake in Baku is mainly collected at two addresses - at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex on Tbilisi Avenue and at the Palace of Hand Games.
Report informs that the collected aid is sorted by volunteers, packed, loaded into trucks and sent to the brotherly country.
Onder Aksoy, a member of the Platform for Unity and Solidarity of the Turkic Age, said in a statement to Report that a total of 88 trucks with humanitarian aid were sent from Baku to Türkiye.
According to him, the action to collect aid to citizens affected by the earthquake has been going on for the fifth day already: “The collected aid is sorted by volunteers, then loaded onto trucks and sent to Türkiye. Yesterday 23 trucks were sent. Today it is planned to send another 20-25 trucks.”
Aksoy noted that used clothes are sorted separately and, after chemical cleaning, are also packed and sent to Türkiye.
Moreover, four more TIRs with humanitarian aid have been sent from Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan to assist the earthquake survivors in Türkiye.
A total of 26 trucks with humanitarian aid have been sent from Nakhchivan so far, Report informs.
Several more trucks are planned to be sent before the end of the day.
Meanwhile, Baku Media Centre, among many Azerbaijani companies, joined the campaign to help the Turkish people, who suffered from devastating earthquake in south-western Türkiye.
Baku Media Centre transferred two million Turkish liras ($106,183) as assistance to the earthquake survivors upon the instructions of Head of Baku Media Centre Arzu Aliyeva.
“Türkiye’s pain and sadness is our pain and our sadness. Azerbaijan will always be close to the fraternal country. We wish a speedy recovery to the earthquake survivors, we express our condolences to the families of the victims,” Baku Media Centre said.

To recall, an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 occurred on February 6 in the province of Kahramanmaras in southeastern Türkiye. The tremors, followed by hundreds of aftershocks, were felt in 10 provinces of the country, as well as in neighboring states, including Syria.
In the provinces of Türkiye, a state of emergency has been introduced for three months. The country has declared seven days of mourning for the dead.
