Azerbaijan strengthens border security with new units, outposts in Karabakh
After the liberation of Zangilan, Gubadli, and Lachin regions in Karabakh, the State Border Service (SBS) has resumed operations, deploying the 1st Separate Border Division, three military units, 11 outposts, three detachments, and 121 combat posts to bolster security.
This includes the establishment of the 1st Separate Border Division, three military units, 11 border outposts, and three separate detachments, along with 121 border combat posts, said Deputy Chief of the SBS Maj. Gen. Araz Mammadov, Caliber.Az reports.
General Mammadov also highlighted the sacrifices made during the 44-day Patriotic War, revealing that 10 border troops lost their lives in the line of duty, becoming martyrs for their heroism and courage.
Furthermore, he announced that 1,843 soldiers who participated in the conflict were decorated for their bravery. Among them, 719 were honoured by the President with various state orders and medals.
