Azerbaijan strengthens role as strategic transit hub amid Middle East tensions PHOTO
Azerbaijan is emerging as a key strategic hub for global trade and digital connectivity amid growing instability in the Middle East and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, according to transport experts.

Rauf Aghamirzayev, a prominent transport analyst and member of the Public Council of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, told Caliber.Az that the country’s “Middle Corridor,” air transport networks, and the “Digital Silk Road” initiative are cementing its position on the international map.

According to him, today, Azerbaijan is not only a physical transit route connecting East and West but also an important hub for information flows and digital infrastructure.
“Geography of Azerbaijan is no longer just a location on the map, but a strategic platform for global trade, air routes, and digital connectivity,” Aghamirzayev emphasised.
