Azerbaijan takes part in UNESCO International Day of Education in Paris

Azerbaijan joined celebrations for the 2026 International Day of Education at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

“The Delegation of Azerbaijan participated in the International Day of Education 2026, celebrated at UNESCO Headquarters on 23 January 2026, under the theme ‘The Power of Youth in Co-Creating Education,’” the Azerbaijani mission said on X.

The United Nations is celebrating the International Day of Education, highlighting the vital role of young people in shaping inclusive and equitable education. This year’s theme recognises youth as key drivers in achieving quality education and building peaceful, just societies.

UNESCO is marking the day with two events in Paris, unveiling a new global assessment from the Global Education Monitoring Report on student and youth participation in education policymaking, and introducing the latest cohort of the SDG4 Youth & Student Network.

The celebrations will also showcase UNESCO’s worldwide initiatives supporting youth, reinforcing its commitment to “UNESCO for the people.”
