Azerbaijan to be featured on BBC TV channel

The British BBC TV channel has prepared another programme from the cycle "Wonders of Azerbaijan".

The story titled "Silk Road" tells about the visit of historian Bettany Hughes to Gobustan and Shaki, Oxu.Az reports.

The traveller tells the audience about the unusual rock paintings in Gobustan, which are 40,000 years old. Then she goes north to the city of Shaki, which was an important stop for merchants travelling along the ancient Silk Road. There she meets weavers still producing silk in the traditional way. Bettany also explores the Palace of the Shaki Khans.

It should be noted that the broadcast is scheduled for August 20.
