Azerbaijan to host first-ever Aviation Energy Forum in the Caucasus PHOTO

25 April 2025 11:51

Azerbaijan is gearing up to host a significant international event this May. From May 13 to 15, 2025, Baku will serve as the venue for the Aviation Energy Forum (AEF), organised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) with the support of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL).

The Aviation Energy Forum is a leading global platform that focuses on energy and sustainability issues within the aviation sector, Caliber.Az reports.

This will be the first time the event is held in the Caucasus region, making it a pivotal occasion for Azerbaijan to showcase its leadership in the aviation and energy sectors.

The forum will be a key platform for discussing the most pressing issues in the aviation industry and exploring strategies for the energy future of aviation. It is also expected to serve as a critical milestone in strengthening Azerbaijan's international presence and expanding cooperation in both the aviation and energy sectors.

For Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), hosting this forum presents a valuable opportunity to highlight the country's efforts in aviation diplomacy and energy policy on the world stage. The central theme of the forum will be the decarbonization of the aviation sector, the adoption of sustainable fuels, and the role of airlines in the global energy transformation.

Key topics at the forum will include the commercial and technical aspects of aviation fuels, challenges in the fuel supply chain, and comprehensive reports on the state of the aviation industry. The forum will also place a strong emphasis on Azerbaijan’s green economy strategy, its transit and logistics capacities, and its growing role in energy diplomacy.

The forum will attract representatives from around 60 countries and more than 65 airlines, bringing together nearly 700 registered participants. Among the attendees will be key industry leaders, including fuel procurement managers, sustainable development experts, IATA’s strategic partners, suppliers of both traditional and alternative fuels, fuel service providers, and executives from the energy sector.

This prestigious event, recognised as the leading gathering for global aviation fuel specialists, will be exclusive to IATA members and its strategic partners working in fuel supply. During the forum, guests will engage in panel discussions on both aviation and energy topics, exchange insights and experiences through commercial and technical sessions, and network with exhibitors and sponsors, uncovering new avenues for collaboration in the aviation and energy sectors.
