Azerbaijan to host nationwide festivals ahead of WUF13 in Baku
Azerbaijan will host a series of public festivals across multiple cities ahead of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to take place in Baku from May 17 to 22, domestic press reported, citing the WUF13 Operating Company.
The initiative is aimed at raising public awareness about the upcoming international forum through a nationwide program of events.
The festival series will begin on April 28 in Baku and will continue across the country, with events scheduled for April 29 in Sumgayit, April 30 in Guba, May 2 in Lankaran, May 4 in Gabala, May 5 in Sheki, May 6 in Mingachevir, and May 8 in Ganja. The program will conclude on May 10 in Khankendi.
According to the organisers, each festival will be divided into two main segments. The first half of the day will feature informational sessions held at local universities in participating cities, focusing on the objectives and themes of WUF13.
In the second half of the day, open public events will take place, with evening programs including interactive activities, educational games, presentations and public discussions designed to engage a wider audience.
Organizers noted that participation in all festival events will be free of charge.
