Azerbaijan to introduce more comfortable planes for Tel Aviv-Baku flights
The Azerbaijani national air carrier Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has decided to replace the planes operating flights from Israel with more comfortable ones as demand increases.
Already in the first days of September, a comfortable Boeing 787 Dreamliner will fly on the Tel Aviv-Baku route instead of the Airbus A319, Report informs citing Israeli media.
As reported, AZAL will replace flights scheduled for the following dates with more comfortable planes: September 1, September 8, September 11 and September 15.
With a further increase in demand, the airline plans to continue replacing boards to make Tel Aviv-Baku flights as comfortable as possible.
In addition, Israeli Tourism Minister Konstantin Razvozov suggested that the Israeli airline El-Al consider the possibility of opening additional flights between Israel and Baku.
"There are close historical and cultural ties between Israel and Azerbaijan. Israeli tourists are increasingly showing a desire to visit hospitable Azerbaijan, and tourists from Azerbaijan are happy to come to our sunny Israel, Konstantin Razvozov said on this occasion. I do my best to contribute to the further rapprochement of our countries and peoples, particularly, I am actively working to expand air traffic," he said.
Head of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan Fuad Naghiyev said: "Azerbaijan and Israel have strong relations, including in the tourism sphere. Since 2021, our tourist office has been operating in Tel Aviv, which is designed to inform Israelis more widely and in more detail about a comfortable, interesting, safe vacation in friendly Azerbaijan. After the [COVID-19] pandemic, we are seeing an increase in the number of tourists in both directions, and the activation of air traffic will give this process an additional impetus. We will continue to make efforts to achieve new successes."
