Azerbaijan to launch Baku-Agstafa high-speed train
Azerbaijan Railways company will extend the scheme of movement of the Baku-Ganja-Baku high-speed train by adding a new destination from March 18, 2023.
“Thus, for the first time, passengers will be transported by Baku-Agstafa-Baku high-speed train,” Azerbaijan Railways told Report, referring to the far western region of Agstafa.
According to the message, tickets will go on sale from March 10, 2023.
“Passengers were transported from Baku to Agstafa in eight hours by a passenger train which runs until March 2020, this distance will be covered within four hours and 55 minutes from March 18,” the message said.
By extending the train traffic scheme up to Agstafa, the national railway network operator makes it possible to resume the activity of the Tovuz railway station.
The passenger train will depart from Baku daily at 08:45 (GMT+4) and arrive in Agstafa at 13:40 (GMT+4).
The Agstafa-Baku train will depart every day at 17:10 (GMT+4) and arrive at the Baku railway station at 22:05 (GMT+4).
The average speed of a high-speed passenger train along the route will reach 100 km/h.
