15 October 2024 20:48

Azerbaijan and Türkiye must focus on developing new technologies in the field of cryptology, said Ali Görçin, President of TUBITAK BILGEM in Baku during a training session on "New Methods of Cyber Defense Supported by Artificial Intelligence for Wireless Communication".

Görçin highlighted that the countries have entered a more complex era due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as conflicts in the Middle East, Caliber.Az reports.

“Establishing peace is of utmost importance. Azerbaijan and Türkiye have never shown hostility towards other nations; we simply seek to protect our territories,” he said.

He further noted that these conflicts have seen the use of both traditional warfare methods and alternative strategies.

“In this context, the field of cryptology becomes crucial. Therefore, it is essential to develop new technologies in this area. This training is the first step in that direction,” he concluded.

Notably, BILGEM carries out technological research and development studies that ensure the security, integrity, secure transmission and storage of military and civilian information in order to ensure Türkiye's technological independence in the field of information security and informatics.

With more than 50 years of knowledge, experience and more than 2,000 human resources, centre conducts scientific and technological research at international standards.
