Azerbaijan, Ukraine explore closer tourism cooperation in Baku meeting
Ukraine’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Yuriy Husyev, has met with Fuad Nagiyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency, to discuss closer cooperation in the tourism sector.
Ambassador Husyev shared news of the meeting on X, describing it as productive, Caliber.Az reports.
“Had a productive meeting with Fuad Nagiyev, Head of Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency. Ukraine and Azerbaijan are strengthening ties in tourism and hospitality. New horizons ahead!”
Note that Azerbaijan and Ukraine have significantly deepened tourism cooperation through strategic initiatives and cultural exchanges. In 2021, both countries signed a three-year action plan to enhance tourism ties, focusing on mutual promotion and experience sharing.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized tourism as a key sector, discussing joint projects and infrastructure development.
Truskavets, a renowned Ukrainian resort, has become a leading destination for Azerbaijani tourists, reflecting the growing interest in Ukraine's health tourism offerings. Conversely, Azerbaijan's Karabakh region is being developed as a new tourist hub, with Ukrainian officials expressing interest in collaborative initiatives.
