Azerbaijan unveils main strategic direction in ecology for Karabakh for next 10 years
Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Rauf Hajiyev has said that one of the main strategic directions for the next 10 years is to ensure a clean environment in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from the Armenian occupation.
Hajiyev made the remarks at the presentation of the report entitled “Azerbaijan towards green development”, held on the joint initiative of the Economy Ministry and the World Bank, according to Report.
He noted that the liberation of Azerbaijani lands created new opportunities.
“There is a great potential in the liberated territories for the introduction of "green energy", “green” agriculture and “green” technologies. Karabakh will turn into a "green" zone without environmental problems in the future as a result of using a modern approach when restoring these territories.
Hajiyev noted that investments in the development of the economy based on "green" technologies are growing in Azerbaijan every year.
“The development of spheres requiring big investments also justifies itself in terms of environmental and human health protection. We should act more responsibly at the stage of switching to a “green” economy in such issues as saving resources, re-use of raw materials, introducing eco-friendly technologies, and it is also necessary to strengthen international cooperation,” he added.
