Azerbaijan unveils reason for TikTok temporary restriction

Head of the Azerbaijani Special Communication and Information Security State Service Tural Mammadov has said that the decision to block the Tik-Tok social network in Azerbaijan was made because the dissemination of misinformation in this network poses a big risk.

Certain people have turned Tik-Tok into a more easily usable format, Mammadov told journalists on September 21, according to APA.

“That is, Tik-Tok has its own algorithm, when you watch video footage, other similar video content is collected and presented to you. Thus, the network can guide you in both the right direction and the wrong direction. You can become a victim of the information war,” he added.
