Azerbaijan updates package of mandatory health insurance
New medical services have been added to the package of mandatory health insurance (MHI) in Azerbaijan.
The relevant decree was signed by Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Caliber.Az reports.
The package of services has been amended, the number and range of medical services have been increased, as well as the cost of some services has been updated.
Thus, 794 new medical services have been added to the "Package of services on compulsory medical insurance" approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. Thus, the total number of medical services has been increased to 3,344 (33 - invasive radiology, 43 - outpatient, 200 - laboratory and 522 - inpatient). The new services also include operations for tendon, muscle, bone marrow, kidney and liver transplants.
The package of services also includes surgeries such as heart valve replacement, congenital heart disease surgeries, endovascular surgeries performed in a minimally invasive manner, brain surgeries, removal of benign brain tumours, surgical lengthening of bones, muscles, tendon fixation, surgical treatment of scoliosis, and other surgeries.
