Azerbaijan, WHO focus on strengthening health cooperation
Azerbaijan's Prime Minister, Ali Asadov, has met with the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Europe, Hans Kluge on the sidelines of COP29 to discuss strengthening of health cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides highlighted the significance of the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku and discussed the measures being taken on the margins of the conference to mitigate the impact of climate change on public health, Caliber.Az reports.
The conversation also focused on strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and the WHO in the field of health.
The officials hailed the current level of collaboration between Azerbaijan and the WHO, noting that the health programs and projects being implemented in Azerbaijan align with WHO priorities and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The discussions also explored prospects for further cooperation in various areas of healthcare, particularly in addressing the challenges posed by climate change to human health. The sides emphasized the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration to tackle these pressing global health issues.
