Azerbaijani airlines evacuate citizens from Saudi Arabia
Azerbaijan is evacuating its citizens from Saudi Arabia after flight cancellations linked to the current situation in the Middle East, according to the country’s national carrier.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) said it is organising a special evacuation flight from Jeddah to Baku. The airline told Caliber.Az that a Boeing 787 Dreamliner is expected to land at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in the coming hours.
The flight will return 209 Azerbaijani citizens to the country.
AZAL said it continues to operate flights safely and according to schedule, in line with procedures established by the relevant authorities.
Additional evacuation flights to Baku from other destinations in the Middle East are planned in the coming days, the airline added.
Passengers seeking further information have been advised to contact the airline directly via email.
