Azerbaijani amphibious aircraft aids Türkiye in fighting wildfires VIDEO
The "BE-200CS" amphibious aircraft, sent by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations under President Ilham Aliyev's instructions to aid in combating forest fires in Türkiye, is continuing its firefighting operations.
The aircraft has recently been involved in firefighting operations in the Alaşehir district of Manisa, Caliber.Az reports, per Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Efforts to extinguish the fires are ongoing, with the aircraft playing a crucial role in the operations to protect the affected areas.
Notably, on August 18, the same type of amphibious aircraft from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) aviation assisted Türkiye in combating forest fires.
Since August, Türkiye has been grappling with devastating wildfires that have scorched a total of 5,019 hectares across İzmir, Manisa, and Bolu. According to NASA data, İzmir has suffered damage to 941 hectares, Manisa to 1,498 hectares, and Bolu to 2,580 hectares. While no human casualties have been reported.
However, wildlife and ecosystems experienced severe impacts.
