Azerbaijani chess players gain another victory at Olympiad in Hungary
The Azerbaijani men's chess team has gained another victory at the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad, which is being held in Budapest, Hungary.
The Azerbaijani chess players gained a victory over their opponents from Montenegro with a score of 3:1 in the fourth round, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Aydin Suleymanli gained a victory over Denis Kadric 1-0, Nijat Abasov drew with Nikita Petrov 0.5-0.5, Rauf Mammadov drew with Nikola Djukic 0.5-0.5, and Shahriyar Mammadyarov gained a victory over Luka Draskovic 1-0.
Thanks to this victory, the Azerbaijani team’s total score has reached eight points. Earlier, the Azerbaijani men's team gained victories over Jordan’s team (3.5-0.5), Finland’s team (3.5-0.5), and Moldova’s team (3-1).
The women's team gained victories over Nicaragua’s team (4-0) and Australia’s team (3-1), and drew 2-2 with Argentina in the third round. The record-breaking 193 teams in the Open section and 181 squads in the Women's competition gather in the Hungarian capital from September 10-23 to compete.
