F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2026 to begin earlier than planned PHOTO
The organisers of Formula 1 have officially announced a revision to the schedule of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, set to take place in Baku in 2026.
The adjustment was prompted by the observance of Remembrance Day in Azerbaijan on September 27, which necessitated rescheduling to avoid a conflict with this significant national commemoration, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Formula 1 official website.
Consequently, the race weekend will be held from September 24 to 26, shifting one day earlier from the previously planned dates of September 25 to 27.
All the F1 teams have been informed of this change, which will mean each day of the event will move one day earlier.
Baku’s high-speed city track, winding through both the modern and historic heart of the city along the Caspian coastline, has earned a reputation for producing some of Formula 1’s most unpredictable and exciting races. The 2026 edition is expected to draw significant international attention and tourism to Azerbaijan.
For the record, the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix is already set to run from September 19–21, 2025, as Round 17 of the Formula 1 season. The event will return to the iconic Baku City Circuit, celebrated for its dramatic combination of tight corners and long straights, providing a unique challenge for drivers and teams alike.
