Azerbaijani customs authorities have intercepted an attempt to illegally import a large shipment of pharmaceutical drugs in the Tovuz district..

At the Girmizi Korpu (Red Bridge) customs post in the distrct, a cargo vehicle transporting food products from the Republic of Türkiye was inspected using a stationary X-ray system, Caliber.Az reports via the Public Relations and Press Department of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

The inspection revealed suspicious items in the cargo compartment.

Customs officers discovered 33 boxes of undeclared medicines of various types, totalling 44,120 units.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
