Azerbaijani delegation observes key NATO CIMIC exercises in Italy PHOTO
An Azerbaijani delegation participated as an observer in the multinational military-civil cooperation (CIMIC) exercises “Adaptive Interaction 2025,” held in Italy’s Veneto region, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence reported told Caliber.Az.
During the exercises, Colonel Anar Eyvazov, Head of the Media and Public Relations Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence, met with Colonel Piero Furlan, Commander of NATO’s Multinational CIMIC Group and the 7th CIMIC Regiment.
The meeting featured an in-depth exchange of views on the effective deployment of CIMIC units in NATO operations.
Colonel Eyvazov briefed his counterpart on the measures taken by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to safeguard civilians and critical infrastructure during the 44-day Patriotic War, which concluded with Azerbaijan’s victory, as well as during anti-terrorist operations and other military actions.
The Azerbaijani delegation also participated in the “Senior Observer Day,” held as part of the multinational exercises. High-ranking guests observed the execution of exercise scenarios, which included establishing coordination with various civilian institutions and organisations in the operational zone, providing them with necessary support, and analysing factors that could influence the course of military operations.
The exercises involved 200 CIMIC personnel from 12 NATO member and partner countries and were evaluated positively for their overall execution and effectiveness.
