Azerbaijani deputy FM highlights Baku's strategic Eurasian role at Dubrovnik forum PHOTO
Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov participated in the international event "Dubrovnik Forum – Challenging the Change," held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.
As part of the forum, Mammadov took part in the panel discussion titled "Connecting Europe and Asia: Pathways to Partnership and Prosperity," Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
In his speech, he emphasised the strategic importance of strengthening political and economic ties between Europe and Asia for global stability and sustainable development. He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s growing role as a reliable partner and resilient transport and logistics corridor linking the two continents.
The deputy minister noted Azerbaijan's significant contribution to interregional integration through multilateral initiatives in transportation, energy, and communications, positioning the country as a strategic bridge across the Eurasian space.
On the sidelines of the forum, Mammadov met with Lu Shaye, Head of the Chinese delegation and Special Representative for European Affairs. The sides discussed strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and China, recent high-level visits, and cooperation agreements signed in recent years.
In a separate meeting with Russ Jalichandra, Deputy Foreign Minister of Thailand, both sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Baku and Bangkok. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, as well as mutual support in multilateral platforms.
