Azerbaijan, UK discuss new projects to tackle mine threat PHOTO

Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom discussed mutual cooperation, priorities and future projects in the field of humanitarian demining.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Shamil Rzayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan, and newly appointed UK Ambassador Duncan Norman, Caliber.Az reports, citing ANAMA.

The meeting emphasised that addressing the mine threat is important not only for security but also for ensuring sustainable peace and socio-economic development in the region, as well as supporting the safe settlement of communities and the resettlement process.
