Azerbaijani diplomat loses life in road accident in Iran

A consul of the Azerbaijani Consulate General in Tabriz has died in a road accident, according to a statement by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on social media platform X.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of our esteemed colleague, diplomat and consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tabriz, Islamic Republic of Iran, Ramil Rza oglu Imranov. He died in a road accident on the Julfa–Tabriz highway near the settlement of Marand while driving during the performance of his official duties.

On this difficult day, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, relatives, and colleagues of the deceased, and wish them strength and patience,” the statement said.
