Azerbaijani national among victims of deadly Russian missile strike on Kyiv

An Azerbaijani citizen has been confirmed among the victims of Russia’s latest large-scale missile attack on Kyiv.

Rescue workers recovered the body of 60-year-old Ramiz Zakiyev, a native of Baku, from the rubble of a five-story residential building in the Kharkiv district of the Ukrainian capital, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

The strike was part of a massive Russian missile and drone assault that devastated all districts of Kyiv early on August 28. As of 3:51 p.m. local time, emergency services reported that the death toll from the attack had risen to 18, including four children. 

Ukrainian officials described the bombardment as one of the heaviest in recent months and declared August 29 a Day of Mourning.
