Azerbaijani Navy conducts tactical drills to bolster maritime defence VIDEO
The Azerbaijani Navy has conducted tactical exercises aimed at enhancing the country’s maritime defence capabilities in line with the 2024 training plan.
The drills involved a detachment of naval warships and marines in a comprehensive, three-phase exercise, the Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
During the exercises, naval commanders and their staffs demonstrated their skills in organizing and managing combat activities. The training focused on assessing the readiness of individual ships to undertake combat tasks both independently and as part of tactical groups.
The primary objectives of the exercise were to ensure preparedness against potential threats to Azerbaijan, safeguard the energy infrastructure within Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea, and refine the coordination between ship tactical groups and special purpose units.
These tactical exercises underline Azerbaijan’s commitment to strengthening its maritime security and its defence of critical infrastructure, a priority as the country navigates complex regional security dynamics.
