Azerbaijani official highlights peace process during Slovenia visit
Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev underscored Baku’s role in regional stability, energy security, and global climate action during panel discussions at the 20th Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia on September 1–2.
In his remarks, Rzayev pointed to the historic agreements reached at the Washington Summit on August 8, stressing their significance for advancing the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalisation process and the broader peace agenda. He also emphasised the importance of stability in the South Caucasus, Caliber.Az reports via the Foreign Ministry.
The deputy minister highlighted Azerbaijan’s contribution to the energy security of European countries and drew attention to major energy and transport projects involving Azerbaijan, including its role in the development of the “Middle Corridor” international transport route.
Rzayev further spoke about Azerbaijan’s successful hosting and chairmanship of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), noting the achievements and decisions adopted on long-standing global issues within the summit.
On the sidelines of the forum, he also held several bilateral working meetings.
