Azerbaijani ombudsman strengthens human rights cooperation with China PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva has met with senior officials of China’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the National Commission of Supervision (NSC) during an official visit to Beijing.
Aliyeva, who is attending the annual meetings of the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA) in her capacity as the organisation’s vice president, held talks with Liu Xuexin, Deputy Secretary of the CCDI and Deputy Director of the NSC, alongside Mu Hongyu, Standing Committee Member, and other commission leaders, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ombudsman’s Office.
Both sides praised the existing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China and highlighted the scope for deepening cooperation.
Discussions focused on the protection of human rights and freedoms, with an exchange of information on institutional practices and positive experiences in the field.
Aliyeva underlined that there is broad potential for both bilateral and multilateral collaboration, noting that sustained dialogue between the two institutions will help strengthen ties.
She said the mutual sharing of expertise, information, and joint awareness campaigns would make a tangible contribution to the effective safeguarding of human rights.
The meeting also stressed the importance of expanding regional cooperation within the AOA framework, promoting the exchange of good practices, and advancing joint projects.
