The protection of Azerbaijani citizens, whether temporarily or permanently residing in Russia, continues to be a key focus of Ombudsperson Sabina Aliyeva’s work.
Aydin Safikhanli, Head of the Ombudsperson’s Office, made the remarks during a session of the Milli Majlis Committee on Human Rights, which convened to review the Ombudsperson’s 2025 annual report, Caliber.Az reports.
Safikhanli emphasized that the Ombudsperson maintains regular coordination with her Russian counterpart to address issues concerning Azerbaijani nationals.
“Whenever cases of rights violations affecting our citizens or individuals of Azerbaijani origin are identified, they are provided with all necessary and available assistance,” Safikhanli noted.
