Azerbaijani ombudswoman addresses Swedish counterpart over Quran burning

Azerbaijan's Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudswoman) Sabina Aliyeva has sent a letter to Swedish Equality Ombudsman Lars Arrhenius over the burning of the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.

Aliyeva expressed concern about the spread of Islamophobia in European countries, the Office of the Ombudsman told APA.

The Azerbaijani ombudswoman expressed hope that the Swedish Ombudsman would take the necessary steps to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future and bring to justice those who committed acts that give rise to religious discord.
