Azerbaijani parliament projects 5.3% increase in revenue for 2025 budget
The Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan has discussed and approved the draft law on the state budget for 2025 in its first reading.
Revenue for the 2025 budget is projected at 38.316 billion manats ($ 22.54 billion), which represents a 5.3% increase compared to the approved figure for 2024, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Expenditures are forecasted at 41.367 billion manats ($ 24.33 billion), reflecting a growth of 4.1%.
The budget deficit is estimated at 3.051 billion manats ($ 1.79 billion), marking a 9% decrease compared to the 2024 budget deficit.
Note that, the snap elections for Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis took place on September 1, 2024.
The voting process occurred across 6,478 polling stations in 125 electoral districts nationwide.
A total of 990 candidates competed for 125 parliamentary seats. There were 6,421,960 registered voters.
According to the Central Election Commission's report, by 17:00, 33.82% of eligible voters (2,172,087 individuals) had cast their ballots.
