Azerbaijani police apprehend two foreigners for in-flight theft of money, valuables VIDEO

Two foreign nationals have been detained by law enforcement officers in Azerbaijan for thefts committed aboard a plane, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Interior Ministry.

Officers from the Aviation Police Department detained the suspects — 45-year-old Van Hong and 43-year-old Zhou Longgen.

The investigation indicates that the suspects took advantage of passengers’ inattention to steal money and valuables from hand luggage. 

They then replaced the stolen cash with lower-denomination bills or foreign currency so that passengers would not notice the theft during the flight.

A criminal case has been opened, and investigative actions are ongoing.
