Azerbaijani public prosecutor: No pressure on Meshali genocide culprit during investigation
Azerbaijani public prosecutor, senior assistant to the prosecutor general, and state counsellor of justice of the third rank Mugaddas Sultanov has said that no pressure was put on Meshali genocide culprit Vagif Khachaturyan during the investigation.
Sultanov made these remarks at another court hearing in the criminal case of Khachaturyan, accused of committing genocide in Meshali village of Khojaly district, as part of illegal Armenian armed formations, Report informs.
“The Azerbaijani side showed humanism during the trial. We also closely followed the investigation from the moment of his arrest, and during the investigation, no pressure was put on Khachaturyan. As opposed to him, Azerbaijanis who were once arrested in Armenia were severely tortured and pressure was exerted against them. However, a positive attitude was shown towards Khachaturyan,” he said.
