Azerbaijani scholar chosen for Fulbright Program at New York University PHOTO

Zarifa Nasirli, a lecturer in the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of Europe and America at the Faculty of History of Baku State University (BSU) and a PhD in History, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Program, sponsored by the US Department of State and the Institute of International Education.

According to Kamala Namazova, Head of BSU's Press Service, Nasirli will conduct research at New York University (NYU) from August 17, 2026, to January 5, 2027, focusing on international security and globalism, Caliber.Az reports.

The Fulbright fellowship will provide Nasirli with an opportunity to expand her academic expertise through advanced research and collaboration with leading scholars.

Under the terms of the program, she will carry out her research at NYU's Center for Global Affairs under the academic supervision of internationally renowned experts in international security and global affairs, Waheguru Pal Singh Sidhu and Thomas Hill.

In addition to conducting research, Nasirli will have access to the university's library and other academic resources, participate in scientific conferences and seminars, and attend lectures in relevant specialized disciplines as an auditor, further enhancing her academic and professional development.
