Azerbaijani schoolchildren visit Catholic church PHOTO

Third-grade students of complete secondary school #160 and their teachers visited the Roman Catholic Parish – John Paul II Chapel in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.

The purpose of the visit is to have an idea about the traditional religions in Azerbaijan and the basic principles of the Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism, the Roman Catholic Parish – John Paul II Chapel told Caliber.Az.

Priest, father David, told the children about the history and present-day of Christianity and the Catholic Church in Azerbaijan, the structure of the church, the features of the Christian religion and the meanings of Christian images and symbols.

In conclusion, the clergy and parish staff answered numerous questions from the schoolchidlren and teachers.
