Azerbaijani security forces rescue victim held for ransom Kidnapping ring busted/Operational footage
The State Security Service (SSS) of Azerbaijan, as part of its efforts to combat transnational organized crime and illegal migration, has received information indicating the involvement of Pakistani citizens, including Ullah Naeem Khan Navvab, in kidnapping activities within the country [Azerbaijan].
According to Caliber.Az, the SSS reported that during their investigation, it was revealed that Ullah Naeem Khan Navvab, born in 1992, along with accomplices, lured a fellow Pakistani citizen, Sheraz Muhammad Afzal, to Azerbaijan under false pretenses of facilitating his visa approval for travel to Canada.
Upon arrival, Sheraz Muhammad Afzal was taken to a rented house in Vandam settlement, Gabala District, where he was held captive by the criminal group. They demanded a significant ransom from his relatives in Pakistan for his release.
Thanks to the swift actions of the SSS, the perpetrators were apprehended at the scene, and Sheraz Muhammad Afzal was freed.
Ullah Naeem Khan Navvab and others involved have been charged under Articles 144.2.3 and 144.2.6 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan for kidnapping for financial gain by a group of conspirators.
