Rhenus Group named official logistics partner for COP29 in Azerbaijan
The Rhenus Group, a global logistics provider headquartered in Germany, has been announced as the official logistics partner for the COP29 event, which will take place in Azerbaijan.
As the official logistics partner, Rhenus will leverage its expertise and resources from November 11-24, 2024, collaborating with local partners to ensure the smooth execution of this significant event, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Group's website.
Operating in over 70 countries, Rhenus is positioned to take on a central role in managing the event’s transportation and freight logistics. Their responsibilities will range from intercontinental cargo transport using various means, customs clearance, warehousing, and last-mile delivery, to handling logistics within the event venue itself.
Tobias Bartz, CEO of Rhenus Group, highlighted the event's importance, noting that COP29 is crucial in advancing the transition to a climate-neutral society and shaping a sustainable future.
Azerbaijan was confirmed as the host of COP29 during the COP28 plenary session on December 11, 2023. This decision followed collective support from Eastern European countries, including Armenia.
