COP29: Global DTC to propose eco-friendly transport solutions for Middle Corridor
Digital platform Global DTC Pte is set to propose an initiative at COP29 aimed at transforming the Middle Corridor into an environmentally sustainable transport route.
Zhanar Bagasharova, head of Programme Development at DTC at the Black and Caspian Freight Forum 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan, made these remarks on September 18, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Bagasharova also highlighted the company's ongoing expansion through technical integrations with countries beyond the Middle Corridor.
“We work closely with both Türkiye and Europe. In partnership with PSA, DTC plans to present this initiative at COP29 in Baku this November. The initiative will focus on showcasing the Middle Corridor’s potential as a “green” route with an emphasis on assessing its impact on carbon emissions and promoting efforts to reduce its carbon footprint,” she added.
Baku will host the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) from November 11-22, 2024.
The Conference will address a wide range of topics including air emissions in trade, energy, tourism, and transport.
Additionally, COP29 will tackle critical themes such as gender equality, education, and urbanization.
Baku will become the centre of the world and will receive about 70,000–80,000 foreign guests.
