Azerbaijani tourists visiting Kazakhstan’s Almaty increase by over 24% in 2024

In 2024, the number of tourists from Azerbaijan visiting Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, increased by more than 24%, signalling a significant rise in travel activity within Turkic regions.

This information was shared by Rinat Abdrakhmanov, General Director of the Shymbulak ski resort, during the panel session of the 1st Summit of the Union of Ski Resorts of Turkic Countries held recently in Shahdag, Caliber.Az reports.

“Last year, more than 160 thousand tourists from Türkiye came to Almaty, which is about 7% more than the previous year. Meanwhile, the number of tourists from Azerbaijan grew by 24.1%,” Abdrakhmanov stated.

He added that this upward trend reflects growing enthusiasm among people to explore destinations within the Turkic world, highlighting the vast potential for further development and collaboration among tourism resources in these regions.
